I already have a bento to post next, but before that I want to post some non-bento related stuff I was meaning to blog a little while back. (before I got busy with Halloween madness)

October 10th was my boyfriend’s birthday! We went out with our co-workers to a shabu shabu place in the East Village in NYC. Everything tasted soooo good. His birthday presents were still on the way, so I decided to make something to give him at the dinner the day before.
There was one character he’s been asking me to make a bento of, and that’s Keepon. The first time I saw Keepon was on youtube. I thought it was just another cute toy from Japan. Then I saw it on WIRED and learned what it was.

I was still a little sick after I came back from PAX. I had a couple days of rest, and I finally started making “birthday gifts” for Dan Paladin. (the creator of Alien Hominid and Castle Crashers) His birthday was on September 14th, and they posted that they’d gladly accept “fan art gifts” for his birthday on the Behemoth dev blog. I love making plush, especially for someone’s birthday. “Master Chief from Halo”, “Legrye from Alteil”, “Dana doll” and “Dude from Kick in the Head comic” were all made for birthdays.

My boyfriend has been coughing since we came back from Gen Con. No fever, no headache, just dry coughs. It went on for about a week or so. Just when he was getting better, I started to have the same dry cough. I’d wake up in the middle of night from coughing. It is absolutely annoying! I even lost my voice from coughing too much. So my co-worker told me to take a day off to get some rest, because guess what? I’m going to another convention! (Just me this time. My boyfriend will be staying home with my kitty.)

The convention I’m going to is called PAX. PAX is held by the creators of Penny Arcade guys in Seattle. (PAX is short for Penny Arcade Expo) It’s a pretty big video gaming convention, and this is the last convention for Alteil this year.

I know that the Behemoth studio (creator of Alien Homid and Castle Crashers) will be there. They gave me a super rare pink castle crasher figure last time I made bento of Castle Crashers, Animal Orbs and Pink Castle Crasher so I decided to make something for them, just as a token of gratitude for being so awesome.

Behold! The behemoth chicken!

I wrote a little about a doll of my friend I made in my “Master Chief plush” post. This is one and only Dana doll. My friend and I wanted our friend, Dana, to wear a maid outfit, but we figured that she was too shy to wear it. So I decided to make her a doll of her wearing a maid outfit. I know it sounds very weird, but she (Dana) is adorable enough to be made into a doll. Still sounds creepy? I know. But if you’ve met her, you know why I made a doll of her. ;)

Unfortunately for bento lovers, no bento blog today either. But fortunately for ZIM fans, it’s another Invader ZIM related stuffed stuff blog.
This is something I made a looooong time ago. Actually I think it’s older than Piggy.

EDIT: I just want to make something clear before it gets too crazy.

Unfortunately, the patterns and plush Master Chief are not for sale. =<

I work for a post-production company, and I’ve made prototypes of plush of anime characters to be mass-produced legally before, and I am so very aware of copyright law. Making profits from the products of copyrighted characters without any legal contract can cause a lot of trouble. I can’t give away the patterns either, since I cannot stop anyone else from making profits with them. Also I spent a very long time making the base body patterns, so I can’t sell them or give them away either.

You just have to be a very good friend of mine to adopt a plush Master Chief. :D

For those who want a plush Master Chief sooooo bad… You can probably find similar base body patterns in a doll book or online. You just have to make the patterns for the costume (?) by looking at images or toys of Master Chief. Like I mentioned, it’s a tedious work, but not impossible to do. Good luck!!

I’m too tired to write anything clever to begin this post, so I’m just gonna say… Yay! I finished! (And this time, I took a LOT of pictures while making it.)
