I wrote that I was working on more plushes of the monster from Lookouts before, and here they are! Healthy monster triplets are born!
Monster baby triplets!

They’re a little smaller than the first one. (77% of the first one to be exact.) Since they’re babies, I made the eyes on them bigger proportionally to their body than the first one.
Look how cute he looks sitting on his butt! (I couldn't resist.)
I definitely like the legs with more baby fat/wrinkles.
My boyfriend took tons of pictures of them, so check out my flickr for more pictures of the triplets of the baby monsters!!
Also, while I was working on the plush on the weekend, my boyfriend who’s a video editor, decided to entertain himself by putting together video clips of people “doing it wrong” in infomercials.
We found out that the video is now on boing boing and reddit and kottke! I’m very lucky to have a boyfriend who’ll use his free time and talent to make something absolutely brilliant and silly at the same time. Without further ado, I’ll give you “As Seen on TV – a tribute to doing it wrong” by kickinthehead.
I wish everything would go gray whenever I did something wrong. Then life would be so much easier…

Monday morning the day after we came back from PAX East, I was checking out the Penny Arcade book signing tour schedule, and realized that they were coming to New York City on Tuesday, which was the very next day. A thought “Maybe I can make something to give to them…” crossed my mind.
The Penny Arcade robot (whose name I won’t spell out here to keep this blog family-friendly), would’ve been so easy to make, but he’s been around for a while, and there must have been tons people who made a plush of him. So I wanted to make something new and different. Then I realized that I had been looking at the perfect subject for a plush project all weekend long. It was on the cover of PAX East booklet.

When I went to the ‘Penny Arcade make-a-strip live!’ panel at PAX East, Mike explained that he got an idea for a monster from a lion head goldfish. He also showed us the owl/elk monster he had designed. The owl/elk was beautiful, but it looked like it needed some real planning, so I decided to make the lion head goldfish monster first.

Phew! What a weekend!
I’m still feeling super energetic from my PAX East high. I wasn’t sure how big & successful PAX East would be, but after attending the first day of PAX East, I can say that PAX East will be bigger and even better next year, and we’ll definitely be there.
PAX East is definitely the most organized, content-rich pleasant convention I’ve ever been to. Before I write this blog post, my boyfriend beat me to it. Check out more cohesive review of PAX at kickinthehead.org HERE.
The convention staff, a.k.a. Enforcers, are everywhere, very easy to spot and extremely helpful and friendly. Also, they set up a phone app for PAX where you can check the events you want to go, and make your own itinerary. I am so very glad that I got a new phone before this convention. I had a regular cellphone before, but decided to get a smartphone so it’d be easier to keep in touch with my friends during the convention.

There were so many different panels and events, so I let my boyfriend pick which panels we were going to. The only panel I really wanted to go was “Girls and Games” to meet Jeff (He was running the panel) to thank him for dealing with me about Noby Noby Boy scarf.
I was going to do daily blog post, but I was so very tired everyday. So I’m going to do a really big post for all three days here.

PAX East begins!

Guess where I am? I’m in Boston, attending PAX EAST! (Penny Arcade Expo East)
PAX is always held in Seattle, but since the convention has been growing bigger and bigger every year, they decided this year to have another PAX on the East coast. Boston is also my boyfriend’s hometown.
Boston isn’t that far away from New York, so my friends (as seen in my other post “Tricked or Treated”), my boyfriend and I decided to check it out. It is the very first PAX East after all.
