My day job, an online card game did a HUGE system update for the game about a week ago. So I’ve been online, writing emails, checking for bugs, chatting with the Japanese developers (the game is originally a Japanese game, my company brought it over to the U.S.) days and nights… and I just couldn’t make the time to update my blog. T_T

Anyway, I still wanted to do a how-to on something simple, so I was looking at my old bento, and decided to do this one. This is something I made for my only original bento “Farm bento.” It’s sooo easy and you don’t need too many ingredients, and with right tools, it’s even easier!

I made this bento a long time ago. The sheep are on the left side.

[How to make sheep rice ball]
- sticky rice (Any regular Japanese or Korean rice is “sticky rice”)
- ham (or cheddar cheese)
- seaweed
- *cheese
- *anything you want to put in the rice ball
– *hole punch

*optional

My boyfriend and I are on the road again! We’ve been trying to empty the fridge, so I’ve been making regular bento. But I still wanted to make a kyaraben-ish thing, so I decided to make breakfast.

I was pleasantly surprised that I got such reactions on Doraemon onigiri. I really didn’t think anyone would know who it was. But I was wrong! It made me want to spread love for Doraemon, so I decided to do a how-to.

When I made it for my boyfriend, I didn’t really prepare anything for it, and as I was making it, I realized that a couple minutes of preparation would’ve saved me a lot of trouble. Also, cutting seaweed for the face and putting it on weren’t as easy as I thought it would be… So I came up with a foolproof method to make this Doraemon rice ball. This way, you don’t need to deal with sticky rice getting all over your hands, or worry about ripping seaweed!

- rice
- salt
- seaweed
- kamaboko (fish cake) or cheese
- carrot

Last night, I made “salmon dish for super lazy people” to clean out my fridge (this is another amazingly simple and easy recipe. I’ll post it someday), so we had enough food for bento. So I decided to make onigiri (rice ball) for breakfast for both of us. But just making plain onigiri would be boring,,, so I decided to make one of his favorite anime characters since he was little.

Thanksgiving is coming soon! So, on top of my usual how-to, I decided to do a turkey kyaraben.
I’m not sure if everyone can get Japanese rice (sticky rice), so I’m going to do a sandwich version as well.

[Rice ball turkey]
- One sheet of seaweed
- rice
- two different kind of cheese
- ham
- small piece of carrot
- black sesame seed
