I have a very quick announcement.
I have an Etsy store now!
I’ve been wanting to focus more on original plush stuff, and with encouragement from my boyfriend, I decided to make a store on Etsy.
Each piece is hand-sewn by my hands with love.
I have one kind of plush in the store so far, and it’s “That Meat”! (a.k.a Manga Meat)
Q: What is ‘That Meat’?
A: You know the meat you see in anime and manga? That meat.
If you’re interested and snuggle with your own plushy meat visit my Etsy store!

I wrote that I was working on more plushes of the monster from Lookouts before, and here they are! Healthy monster triplets are born!
Stuffed stuff: Monster from Lookouts ver.2 (triplet babies)
Created and stuffed: April 2010
They’re a little smaller than the first one. (77% of the first one to be exact.) Since they’re babies, I made the eyes on them bigger proportionally to their body than the first one.
My boyfriend took tons of pictures of them, so check out my flickr for more pictures of the triplets of the baby monsters!!
Also, while I was working on the plush on the weekend, my boyfriend who’s a video editor, decided to entertain himself by putting together video clips of people “doing it wrong” in infomercials.
We found out that the video is now on boing boing and reddit and kottke! I’m very lucky to have a boyfriend who’ll use his free time and talent to make something absolutely brilliant and silly at the same time. Without further ado, I’ll give you “As Seen on TV – a tribute to doing it wrong” by kickinthehead.
I wish everything would go gray whenever I did something wrong. Then life would be so much easier…

Monday morning the day after we came back from PAX East, I was checking out the Penny Arcade book signing tour schedule, and realized that they were coming to New York City on Tuesday, which was the very next day. A thought “Maybe I can make something to give to them…” crossed my mind.
The Penny Arcade robot (whose name I won’t spell out here to keep this blog family-friendly), would’ve been so easy to make, but he’s been around for a while, and there must have been tons people who made a plush of him. So I wanted to make something new and different. Then I realized that I had been looking at the perfect subject for a plush project all weekend long. It was on the cover of PAX East booklet.
Stuffed stuff: Lion head goldfish monster from Penny Arcade’s original series, Lookouts
Created and stuffed: March 2010
When I went to the ‘Penny Arcade make-a-strip live!’ panel at PAX East, Mike explained that he got an idea for a monster from a lion head goldfish. He also showed us the owl/elk monster he had designed. The owl/elk was beautiful, but it looked like it needed some real planning, so I decided to make the lion head goldfish monster first.

As I posted before, I won Penny Arcade’s Katamari Forever contest. After I gave my address to Jeff at Penny Arcade, I couldn’t wait to see the awesome Noby Noby Boy scarf.
I received my package on December 28th. I can’t explain how excited I was. I hurriedly opened the box and I carefully opened the bubble wrapped scarf. The first I thought “Oh my god it looks even more awesome than I could ever imagine!!” I looked for the head… but I couldn’t find one.

Aw how cute his... butt looks... (It does look cute, though. ) *I didn't make this scarf! Scroll down for my Noby Noby Boy plush.*
That’s right, they sent me the tail end of the scarf by mistake. I was just… very sad, thinking “I knew it! I thought it was too good to be true. Maybe I didn’t deserve it…” in my head and I had pretty much given up.

Katamari prince: "Did you see the head?" (Those little plush dolls were sewn onto the scarf by the way) *I didn't make this scarf! Scroll down for my Noby Noby Boy plush.*
I sent an email to Jeff at Penny Arcade. He wrote me back right away, explaining that he had given the addresses to Bandai Namco, and they were the ones who shipped the stuff. He was very understanding, apologetic, and sympathized with my situation. He contacted Bandai Namco (and probably the person who won the second prize) and made an arrangement. Bandai Namco would send me and the other person a pre-paid FeDEX label, so I could ship the scarf back and get the head end of the scarf.

The scarf was knitted beautifully. It was hard to say "good-bye." *I didn't make this scarf! Scroll down for my Noby Noby Boy plush.*
I was pleasantly surprised that the other person had agreed to do this. The honesty of this Katamari fan made me really happy. (Well, I haven’t received the head end but… I’m optimistic!) When I got a pre-paid label, I realized that it was going to be directly shipped to the second prize winner. So I decided to make a little thank you gift for her.

Sorry about the lack of blogging lately. My boyfriend and I are on a pretty long holiday vacation (we’re off until the beginning of the next year!), so I don’t have to make bento. But that doesn’t mean I’m going to stop making them! As soon as we finish watching DVDs & blu-rays and playing games we got for Christmas (maybe get some inspiration from them for my bento, who knows
), I’m going to be making more bento!
We had a little early gift exchange party at our friend’s place. I got my boyfriend Beatles Rock Band for Xbox 360, Jet Li’s “Fearless” on blu-ray (we own the DVD, but blu-ray looks so pretty) and the 1st volume of Moyashimon in English. He got me an amazing statue of pure awesomeness.
